I just don't get the obsession some people have for the iPad, jumping through hoops and putting up with so many compromises when most issues are solved using a laptop. Can someone explain this? I have an iPad but I primarily use it for watching films, I wouldn't dream of trying to get any work done on it when I have a Macbook.
Ipads/tablets are very common business devices used for a variety of applications. We issue ipads to our field techs to do inspection checklists, take pictures at job sites, write notes, etc. Its a great device for that.
Same. I get annoyed on systems where I have to use a mouse when I know keyboard shortcuts would be faster and more efficient, so having to do everything through a touchscreen is infuriating. And some people will say "well that's why you can buy a keyboard ..." so then it's a laptop, just not a great one. What's the point? ipad has always felt like a weird middle ground without an obvious niche, at least for my use.
Not everyone has the same view as you. There are plenty of segments that Apple caters to including captive devices for field techs, education, retail, kiosks etc.
