Unlike Word at least you can still select all its options without having to run it maximized hogging all of the screen. I'll take that over over prettier and unusable.

The only example I could think of that sort of fits that bill: "National Union Party was a wartime coalition of Republicans, War Democrats, and border state Unconditional Unionists that supported the Lincoln Administration during the American Civil War. It held the 1864 National Union Convention that nominated Abraham Lincoln for president and Andrew Johnson for vice president in the 1864 United States presidential election." (wikipedia) Great success as an electoral pairing, not so much afterwards with Johnson's reconstruction policies resulting in all former Republicans leaving the National Union Party and an impeachment.

That's not very innovative of you. ;-)

I wish "new tab" could show me all my bookmarks instead because I have already plenty interesting pages bookmarked to read, but I never use them.

Why did they drop the feature? I guess that is just the pro and con of subscription based software.

They should probably focus on fixing their democracy first with proper proportional representation.

There's tonnes of evidence that proportional representation and voting systems other than FPTP are important for the health of a democracy. The problem in the UK is that the parties in a position to make it happen stand to lose a lot of power as a result, so it's not likely to happen.

The 2011 Alternative Vote referendum was a solid victory for FPTP, and it's often used as a cudgel on anyone who dares to suggest a better voting system.

At least, he argued that there were other equally plausible explanations for climate change back in the late 90s and early 00s. He has been dragging his feet all the way like a good follower of the tobacco industry's playbook.
