It’s telling that targeting “men” has a markedly different effect than targeting “father”. In a real way TikTok has an opinionated viewpoint of what is important to men and being a father is not one of them
The only constant in effective therapy is that the client in good faith wants to make a change in their life/outlook. The therapy modalities are all tactics but the strategy remains the same
Yes actually in my experience the physical feelings concomitant with anxiety often make the mental feelings of worry and dread much worse. If anything the author sounds like they are conflating having bad feelings for “processing”.
Well maybe misdirected. I remember the first few times my dad caught me looking at hardcore BDSM pornography. I was probably 13 and definitely gay. The first time he cancelled our internet for a month and the second time he started shutting off the breaker to the computer at night. I was hooked though.
I can see how parents are wary, that was probably a big shock for him . Luckily he was able to process his feelings with the belt so didn’t have to go calling his senator.
We will be old, not boomers. Boomers are a special generation at a special moment in world history - they made decisions based on the limited amount of knowledge they had about how the world works and while some think those decisions have doomed us forever, I remain optimistic.
