Exactly.

Are we meant to associate it with "hot air" marketing or what else?

Somehow, someone still lost $500k against that bet. Not that kind of 'obvious' then.

Doesn't mean everyone's always paying attention.

Also, do you have a link that someone lost $500k? Because it's not in the original link.

If someone made 500k, then someone lost 500k.

Any money you win gambling has to come from someone else, it doesn't just appear.

So you don't know anything about gambling lol.

Yes, generally both sides of the book balance (minus a cut for the bookie). But there's not automatically another exactly opposite bet of the same size lol.

I don't think knallfrosch's post was implying it was a singular someone.

Like if you say "someone is at the door", you don't literally mean that exactly one person is at the door.

Saying "someone lost $500k" definitely implies one person. 10,000 people losing $50 isn't noteworthy.

And someone at the door? If you see 3 people, you don't say someone. You'd only say someone if you're expecting it to be one person (which it usually is knocking at a door).

It's an error in the site's CSS. CSS has way better methods, like splitting words correctly depending on the language and hyphenating it.

Although I can never remember the correct incantation, should be easy for LLMs.

All this because some guys installed the letters wrong?

Is this some kind of joke, or is the author really lost in some conspiracy-level detail tracking, hunting for "hidden signals"?

I think you need to touch some grass if you don't know the difference between curiosity (searching for the answer and evidence) and conspiracy (inventing answer out of nothing and ignoring the evidence)

I'd be happy if I was able to use Claude Code at all

VSCode extension, "Please log in"

I authorize it, it creates an API key, callback. "Hello Claude, this is a test." "Please log in."

So yeah... priorities?

Why not use Claude Code from the cli and follow along in your IDE? I did not quite believe when people were telling me or understand what I was missing until I tried it, but after trying that set up I am convinced that it is superior. I don’t have any hard data to back it up, but it feels much more capable that way.

AFAIK the claude vs code plugin uses claude code under the hood.

I recent switched from vs code copilot to open code and I kinda miss it. Just selecting text and directly asking the chat. Or seeing the generated code in the ide to accept it reject it. It's neat.

Those turnstiles were inefficient (slowed legitimate users down), but not security theater (they really blocked unauthorized access.)

They A/B test titles. You can see it in the URL, where the recessive title often lives on. They may also use different titles for print/digital.

Google/Apple already know where you and your mistress live. In case you pay for any service, they've got your identity too. Ever had a single shipment confirmation to your address come to your mail? They know who you are.

The hardware providers already have the information. You only need to make them reveal it to 3rd parties.

We should be banning groups from collecting age related information, and not requiring it. And we definitely should not be forcing companies to share that information with third parties.

All adults proof their identify multiple times per month: Every time they access digital health records, or when they use any electronic payment.

Just make Google/Apple reveal part of that data (age > x years) to websites and apps.

Boom, done. Privacy guarded. Easy.

>Every time they access digital health records, or when they use any electronic payment.

This is the internet.

Among those who were very familiar with it, the smartest money never started doing things like that.
