> That will require that humans never come in contact with the regolith or things that touched it.

It’s really only a concern if you ingest it.

Not a big deal then either. Just don't do it daily.

‘Ozone’ is the smell of ionisation, ‘gunpowder’ the smell of oxidisation.

Suffer them to tarnation.

And yet many early religions associate their local mountain with god(s).

Seems to be partly price discrimination, I guess that people willing to pay more will fork out for flexible tickets. Same goes for seat allocation.

It’s worrying, or perhaps just sad, that 766ms for an initial page load is considered especially noteworthy. Six thousand milliseconds is just awful.

But it feels snappy.

When I was a lad, 30ms was considered the worst latency allowable for telephony unless you were dealing with satellite links, in which case you taught people to use a simple variety of radio protocol (over).

Nowadays with all our fancy crappy comms, 200+ms is considered normal. Ever noticed the lag on a Teams call?

OP is not talking ping but page load time. Depending on when you were a lad pages could take up to 30-60 second to load on a modem.

It feels snappy _compared with most sites_.

That's the point!

It feels _very_ sluggish if I try it after spending some time using a windows 98 VM, or a library catalog from 1990.

Not if you were browsing the internet of that time using a 28k8 modem.

The papacy prefers to excommunicate rulers, the idea being that their subjects will turn against them.

From what I’ve seen religions derive from basic human virtues and not the other way around.

and?

Commons in England were being enclosed in the Tudor age. It caused a great deal of social unrest, even rebellion. It had little to do with technology, and was mostly caused by population growth.
