Why just the dash cam?

dashcam is just one of the use cases and the one i tested on. but this could theoretically work with any kind of video footage like home security footage

Why is that?

Because LLMs dont have a textual representation of any text they consume. Its just vectors to them. Which is why they are so good at ignoring typos, the vector distance is so small it makes no difference to them.

I like this survivorship bias, "evolution" works in everything why not in the shaping of the "costants" of the universe as we know it?

From the article, talking about Feynman: "Fortunately, he was right.

...boy i wouldn't bet against him..

Sure, but at some point you want humans in the loop i guess?

" 10-20x speedup on average. "

Is this everyone's experience?

It depends on the specifics, but I converted a couple of scripts recently that would take minutes to run with Pandas that only took seconds to run with Polars. I was pretty impressed.

That was probably about what I got when I migrated some heavy number crunching code from Pandas to Polars a few years ago. Maybe even better than that.

It’s a typical experience. Polars is fast, and Pandas is very slow and memory-hungry. It would be one thing if Pandas had a good API, but it doesn’t.

This is Twin Peaks season 3

I think this story fits https://qntm.org/mmacevedo

Oh god, yeah, that's a great one. Also that one Black Mirror episode where AIs are just enslaved brain scans living in a simulated reality at 0.0001x of real time so that from the outside they perform tasks quickly.

Also SOMA (by the guys who made Amnesia).
