Public bathrooms are actually one of the few things that US cities are undeniably better at than European cities. You almost always have to pay in Europe and even paid ones can be hard to come by.
For sure, so you just gotta be that tree that bends but doesn't break with the wind. Always keep a mental and emotional distance and be ready to walk at any moment.
+1 in my experience most people that criticize scrum simply have a bad experience with a half baked implementation of scrum.
If it's implemented well it's fantastic. You get to focus on the important stuff during the sprint. Issues tend to get caught early on because experienced team members chime in during planning poker. The whole team takes responsibility for the sprint together. This leads to lots of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.
Once the team velocity is predictable it also becomes much easier to ask for x amount of time per week for refactoring work as the impact to project timelines can be easily quantified.
Whilst I agree that offfering a 15 minute video as an answer to a comment, with no timestamp/tldr for a quick answer is extremely inefficient, the video specifically states that you don't need to put on, as you say 'gazillion clothing' items, and the narrator in the video says that he only wears a jacket, gloves and a hat whilst cycling in the winter. The majority of the video is spent making the point that the barriers to winter cycling are not due to the cold, and more due to the infrastructure for winter cycling not existing in most places.
Have you ever used said MacBook intensively with OSX? I guarantee you the difference in trackpad performance will be mind boggling and frustrating. Literally the only thing keeping me away from using Linux.
I'm extra careful with compatibility claims after the number of times someone says how Linux works great on whatever Mac, or Mac OS runs great on a Hackintosh, only for me to discover how many "inconsequential" things are broken. Like it'll not sleep, not have wifi or bluetooth, run the fans at 100%, and be missing various forms of hardware accel.
Roads are absolutely not financed by gasoline taxes. They are massively subsidized by the federal government. Watch some videos about Strong Towns to learn about the problems that is causing in regions that are not experiencing constant growth.
