This is exciting news! Really looking forward to the future of Rails!

Edit: Hope to get an ecosystem similar to Laravel's with this!

Just curious, since I know nothing about Laravel. What things about the Laravel ecosystem are you talking about?

I know the Rails community has diminished somewhat in recent years. Are you talking about the people or tools/libraries?

Basically what @clivestaples already said. If you go to the Laravel Website [1] and look through "Ecosystem" in the navigation - that's what I am missing from Rails. And of course a more active community.

I'd say the Rails community has been a flat-line somewhat... but not diminished. Yes, it may not have been the hottest framework, but it's been rolling forward consistently and actively.

Not the OP but officially sanctioned tools and libraries are exactly what I envy from Laravel: auth, search, payments, hosting, etc.

Hey, great question! This is definitely planned to be implemented as soon as possible. In my eyes, this is one of the most crucial parts. Otherwise, you couldn't really automate these tests! There will be integrations with multiple CI providers and also multiple other methods to integrate Testkit into your workflow!

I've seen a few people protesting against GitHub, mostly because they profit of the code that is hosted on there (notably GitHub Copilot) More on that here: https://sfconservancy.org/GiveUpGitHub/ Though this is online.

For real life, people in Germany went to the streets a few times already because of the so-called "Staatstrojaner" (Basically a trojan that they can inject into all devices of someone who is "suspicious" in the governments eyes, they're probably using Pegasus, but I'm not super deep into that topic). Ref: https://netzpolitik.org/2022/protest-so-war-die-erste-demo-g... (There is way more on that though)

Until now, I had to code all of this manually. It‘s especially frustrating if customers have all different storage providers. Looks like this solves this pain, I‘ll give it a try!
