If the PC is dead, why is the article about the Mac/Apple ecosystem?
The Microsoft-based PC business is not in a bad shape (yet, though there have been recent shifts), and the FOSS-based ecosystem is as healthy as ever given we have enough hardware to run it on. That is not something I foresee as a problem - we've got Raspberry Pi, and soon will have RISC-V for general purpose use.
