I know a few people who have expressed interest in an Oculus headset, but for the Facebook association. But the amount of capital Facebook is throwing after it surely makes other vendors hesitant to compete.

This is more or less how I feel about it - I refuse to touch anything VR-related that is associated with Facebook as an entity.
