>Privacy information on the vaccination passport app reveals personal data of users will be shared with NetCompany, Service Now, Jumio, iProov, Albasoft, Amazon Web Services, CFH Docmail, Microsoft Azure, Gov.uk Notify Service and Royal Mail. It is claimed that not all of the firms can “access” the data, even though it is "shared".
How many services is it hosted on? It's a QR code, why does it need so many different services? If it were just AWS or just Azure, that would make sense but this many different companies? Why is it necessary?
Not from the UK but I believe I prefer the classic paper form instead of any app (totally not safe against counterfeit signatures, but I believe everybody has to decide themselves if they want to get a vaccine).
Those are available and fairly easy to get, typically for travel to other countries where an app is not so easy to obtain for non-citizens, even comes with translations to popular language (I've just returned from France to the UK, in France a passe sanitaire is needed in all bars & restaurants, the NHS paper form was universally accepted).
I would vastly prefer that. I had a QR code for the european app and it simply didn't work. No error message, the app just didn't do anything. Wasn't really mad because I didn't really want to use it anyway.
