You still have a pick a unique username and they'll all see it. You can't just pick Susie and let the discriminator happen.

You can use Susie74514 as your username and Susie as your display name

Exactly correct. I don't think that Dylan16807 read the blog post that explained how the system works, because Discord made it
very
clear that the display name was meant to be used in most cases for most things.
