I never thought I'd be so amazed by photos of moss, but 12 square kilometers of a mossy plain in the Antarctic is something I never thought I'd see.

Fig. 2: Change in the areal extent of likely vegetation cover is the bar-graph I'm getting the 12 sq. km value from. It will be something to track over the coming years. It looks like a tipping point.
