Well that seems like a really shitty thing to do. I'm all against targeted ads, but creators need to have a way of earning money. I know we've moved to an "ask for forgiveness rather than permission world" but they could have even reserved some amount ready to pay.
I pay for Spotify so I don't get ads (and so I can actually listen to the podcasts), but now podcasters embed ads into the podcasts themselves, and I can't pay them to remove them.
I would pay for this or a SponsorBlock-type plugin.
