The pain points you listed there are a lot different. Passwords are a huge pain. I don't mind having multiple cards in my wallet or keys on my keyring.

What everybody misses with the whole "Too many cards in our wallets" 'problem', is that there's utility in having multiple cards in your wallet. My wallet isn't just a place to store cards, it's a physical interface designed to make it easy to pick the right card quickly.

If you replace that all with one card then sure, you've solved a (very tiny) problem, but unless that device's interface does a better job than my wallet does with letting me pick the card I want to use instantly and clearly, then it's simply a non-starter.
